Robin is an independent journalist and filmmaker. After college she put her Bachelor’s degree to work in high tech and consumer marketing and moonlighted as a journalist. In 2013, she left marketing to work full-time as a journalist and developmental editor. Over time, Robin began collaborating with filmmakers to bring stories to life on the big screen. She formed Selah Productions and teamed up with 152 WEST Productions to create SUE’S STORY, released in April 2018. Robin launched The Sue’s Story Project in collaboration with the Berghoff Foundation, Stanford Medical, the Brain Support Network, the City of Morgan Hill, and others committed to increasing awareness, support services and research funding to find a cure for Lewy Body Dementia.

Mattie is a filmmaker and a long-time advocate for film and digital media arts in education, careers, and community life. She attended college at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. Early in her career, she provided costume and makeup services for actors on the set of Star Search and other TV productions and carved out time to study filmmaking. In 2006 she moved to Santa Clara County, co-founded 152 WEST Productions, and devoted herself to creating short and feature-length films as well as corporate videos. Currently, she serves as Festival Director with the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival, an event she helped revitalize in 2017 and continues to lead today. She is also a board member of the Gilroy Downtown Business Association and the Community Media Access Partnership. Previously, she was Chair of the Gilroy Arts and Culture Commission, and a board member of the Gilroy Arts Alliance.
Cinematographer and Film Editor
Nils’ affinity for cinematography and film editing have inspired his mastery of the constantly evolving technology used in film and digital media development and production. Raised in Southern California, Nils discovered his passion for filmmaking when he and his teenaged cohorts began chronicling their misadventures on Super-8 film. He went on to study Filmmaking at Cal State Long Beach. After moving to Northern California in 1998, he landed a job at eBay where he conducted fraud investigations and moonlighted as a freelance videographer for corporate clients. In 2006 he co-founded 152 WEST Productions to pursue full-time filmmaking. That move paved the way for him to collaborate with other film and entertainment industry professionals in the development of feature films, short film documentaries, TV commercials, and corporate videos. In 2018, 152 WEST was recognized for cinematography for “The Biggest Game in Town,” which won Best Feature Film at the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival and the Barebones Film Festival.
Born and raised in Italy, Elena Maro is living out her childhood dream as a singer songwriter, composer and sound designer, playwright and actress in Los Angeles. Eager to explore new opportunities beyond the theatre, she studied songwriting, filmscoring and music production at the Musicians Institute. Since then, she has written, composed and produced music tracks for a variety of film, TV and advertising clients.
Elena attributes the strong visual element of her music to her theatrical experience. Her dreamy, quirky, and atmospheric sounds captivate listeners and amplify the story. Her choices for the instrumental palette range from orchestral to electronic vibes and beats to carefully designed sounds derived from nature or objects. Elena's approach to scoring is, first and foremost, to serve the story with honesty and respect.
Tan studied Graphic Design at San Jose State University. He helped establish the original San Jose-based Designworks agency as a top Silicon Valley creative marketing firm and served there for more than a decade before taking the role of Senior Graphic Designer at Infoblox. His work has been recognized with Addy Awards and other industry recognition. Tan played an instrumental creative role in the rebranding of the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival in 2017-18.
